Ellie Greenwood (Banff, AB)
Sponsored by Montrail / Mountain Hardware since 2008, Ellie comes to the Canadian Derby Marathon fresh from a win: 2:52:12 at the Calgary Marathon Championship. Recently, Ellie has focused only on long distance running including marathons and trail running for the last few years. She is the course record holder for the Elk Beaver 100km (Victoria, BC, May 2010, 7:36:40), the Stormy 50 miler (Squamish, BC, August 2009, 7:16:00) and the Run for the Toad 50km (Paris, ON, Oct 2009, 3:48:00). Ellie was also the first place finisher at the legendary Kneeknacker 50km event in Vancouver last July. Ellie has lived in Canada for past 9 years, originally hailing from Dundee, Scotland.
Claudette Augert (Edmonton, AB) Masters Division
In 2006, Claudette was accepted into the women’s elite field at the prestigious Boston Marathon and placed 7thoverall in the Women Master’s division with a time of 2:59:34. In 2008, Claudette claimed her first win at the Red Deer marathon and her success continued in 2009 when she was the first Master woman at both the Martian Marathon and the Calgary Marathon. Most recently, Claudette ran to another first place finish at the 2010 Arizona Rock’N’Roll marathon with a time of 3:05:51.
