Run For Charity

Millions of people run in marathon races every year and raise millions of dollars for good causes. The 2010 Intact Insurance Canadian Derby Edmonton Marathon is your opportunity to join them! Make your Edmonton marathon weekend more meaning by running for one of our pledge program charities. Register today!

Steps

1. Register online to participate in the 2010 Intact Insurance Canadian Derby Edmonton Marathon Weekend. You choose the distance – marathon, half marathon, 10 km, 5 km or Kid’s Marathon Mile.
2. Choose a charity to raise funds for. Click here to view our Pledge Program charities and learn more about them.
3. Go to http://www.giving.runningroom.com and click on the Raise Funds image.
4. Enter your Members Login and Password.
5. Enter the name of the charity that you would like to race funds for.
6. Enter:
   • Accept Donations Until This Date: August 21, 2010
   • Event Name: Intact Insurance Canadian Derby Edmonton Marathon
   • Event date: August 21 and 22, 2010
   • Event City: Edmonton
   • Event Prov./State: AB
   • Event Country: Canada
7. You are now ready to collect donations. On the left of the page there is an area called donations. In that area you can:
   • See a how much money you have raised – under Fundraising Summary
   • View who has donated to you – under View Sponsors
   • Add a personal message to the page people will see when they donate to you – under My Donation Page
   • Set a fundraising goal – under My goal
   • Send e-mails to friends and family to get them to sponsor you – under Solicit Sponsors
8. Not sure what to write to your friends and family. Below is a sample for each organization. Just cut and paste it in the space provided under the Solicit Sponsors page and personalize it as you want. Make sure to choose which distance you are running and which day you are running on.
