As the average cost to participate in sport continues to rise, the KidSport program continues to become even more timely and relevant. The KidSport mission is simple - to get more kids into the game by helping overcome the financial barriers that prevent some young people from participating in organized sport.

KidSport helps to create these opportunities for sport participation and plays a significant role in supporting many low-income families across Canada.

KidSport Edmonton has distributed over $594,000 to more than 4,400 children and youth since their chapter launch in 1995. This is a remarkable achievement.

Proceeds from the 2010 Intact Insurance Canadian Derby Edmonton Marathon will be directed to KidSport Edmonton to help ensure even more local kids, who would not otherwise have a chance to participate in organized sport, to benefit.

KidSport Edmonton volunteers, staff and community partners continue to work on program development and new opportunities with the intent to bring the KidSport program even closer to schools, rinks, gyms and playing fields so ALL Kids Can Play!
